Karolinska Institutet (NASP)

The Swedish National Prevention of Suicide and Mental Ill-Health (NASP) lead by Prof. Danuta Wasserman is the lead centre for the SUPREME Project.

Since 1993 NASP has been Stockholm County Council's advisor on Suicide Research and Prevention of Mental Ill-Health, and since 1995 the Government's Expert body in Suicide Prevention. NASP joined the department of Public Health Sciences in Karolinska Institutet on the 1st of October 2007.

NASP is also a WHO collaboration centre working with the European regional WHO office in Copenhagen, following the Helsinki Declaration on “Mental Health in Europe” and with the WHO headquarters in Geneva, regarding suicide prevention on the five continents.

NASP is involved in several other projects co-funded by the EU such as WE-STAY, SEYLE, MONSUE.

 

NASPs Role in SUPREME

Our primary goal in SUPREME is the coordination of the consortium, and the mapping and evaluation of existing Internet and media based interventions. We are also responsible for the development of the intervention website and its implementation and evaluation in Sweden.
